Doodle Arts was abuzz with creativity this summer with handful of workshops on illustration, literature, photography, and more. This March, Design Deconstruct (D2), an art and design organization from Mapua Institute of Technology, is partnering with us to bring a creativity workshop that will communicate our ideas and tell our unique vision in a fun and friendly way.

Bangin ng Pighati (Artist Block): A Manix Abrera Workshop is an inspiring workshop about creativity built for those who wish to further understand the challenges of generation of ideas and creativity block. Manix Abrera is also set to give a glimpse of his fun world of comic art and cartooning.

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW


Objectives

Bangin ng Pighati aims to discuss how to deal with slow progress of creativity and how to communicate effectively with our thoughts to start a great art from a blank canvas.

Limited Slots
In order to make the best learning experience, this workshop will have limited slots. In return, the mentor can focus more on each student and the student can have a better workshop experience.

Awesome Mentor
Our artistic mentor for this workshop will give you a stimulating atmosphere of creative energy where artists will be more inspired for the love and passion of art.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR


Known for his award-winning Kikomachine Komix publications, Manix Abrera has been exposed to work in the field of editorial cartoons and comic series. His comic strip Kikomachine runs from Monday to Saturday in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, and appears in over ten compilations published by Visprint. His webcomic News Hardcore! appears weekly on GMA News Online.

He has given talks and workshops in universities and organizations, and has exhibited in different art institutions including Pablo Gallery (twice in 2010), Manila Contemporary (2011), Vargas Museum (2014), Erehwon Center for the Arts (2014), and among many others.
