Originally launched in 2007, the adobo Design Awards aims to champion the best designs and recognize the talents behind the work. Now called adobo Design Awards Asia (aDAA) with over 20 categories, professionals, students, and freelancers are once again invited to step into the purposive world of design to get a chance to showcase their fresh ideas and be critiqued by established names from both advertising and design.
This year’s awarding aims to highlight a range of creative fields that put the spotlight on designers across various disciplines.
Partnership with D&AD
aDAA is honored to be working together with D&AD (Design and Art Direction), a British educational charity that promotes excellence in design and advertising. The partnership aims to further elevate the exceptional standards of creative excellence that adobo Design Awards is known for. Established names and personalities from advertising and design compose this year’s top caliber line of jury which will be headed by the current D&AD President, Andy Sandoz.

Other members of the jury include Melvin Mangada, AJ Dimarucot, Dan Matutina, Jowee Alviar, Marcus & Bernie Nada, Benjamin Marasigan, Leigh Reyes, Patrick Cabral, Ric Gindap, and Arnold Arre. Together with Andy Sandoz, jury members will be giving short talks on design-related topics during the adobo Design Series to be held on Mar 22 at the Mind Museum. There will also be a Design Masterclass presented by New York-based Lucille Tenazas, graphic designer and Associate Dean of the School of Art at Parsons The New School of Design on Mar 31 at Axon, Green Sun.
The competition is open to all design students and professionals who are self-employed or working in Philippine or foreign-based companies. Entries will be eligible if the work is released between Mar 1, 2015 to Feb 28, 2016. The extended deadline for the submission of entries is on March 12.
