Idea innovator Erwin Lian introduces The Perfect Sketchbook, a compact hardbound sketchbook that is filled with Artist-Grade 100% Cotton paper, value chart and 18% photography grey.

Over the past 14 months, Erwin has been traveling and sketching around the world. France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Asian countries, the list continues to grow. “Sketch-hunter,” a term coined by Robert Henri, is probably the best word to describe Erwin’s character. In fact, he sketches almost daily—noting down everything from interesting people to places. Whether in a moving subway cabin, car, or bus, you can find him sketching. His passion has led him to try out numerous sketchbooks available in the market. With the need to perfect his watercolor sketches, he began searching for that perfect sketchbook. The target description must be hardbound, compact, binds well, opens flat, and filled with Artist Grade 100% cotton paper (makes it strong but pliable). Unfortunately, he couldn’t find it, so he decided to start his ideal sketchbook.

“I went on a journey to search for high-quality sketchbook manufacturers. Then I discovered Bynd Artisan, a premium leather and paper label in Singapore. The people behind this brand have been in the book-making business for more than 70 years and they were very receptive towards my ideas of a perfect sketchbook. They agreed to collaborate on this project, and their sincerity and earnestness to create the Perfect Sketchbook moved me beyond words.”
