Life Drawing Session: An Artist’s Naked Ambition

Artists draw from the nude because the human figure offers all the complexities an artist needs to learn.

2017 is shaping up to be an interesting year as Pens N’ Brushes moves forward to liven up the mainstream culture of life drawing session. As they branch out into the art world, they have successfully curated a series of life drawing session as a platform to scrutinize and appreciate the human figure.

As a cornerstone of art education, nude drawing is one of the best ways to understand the human body figure as it poses different technical problems like form, structure, foreshortening and so on. Many artists attend life drawing session to enhance their skills while many of us do it for fun and satisfaction.

Recently, Pens N’ Brushes flawlessly conducted their third life drawing session under the theme of Art the Carnival last July 15, 2017 at Penbrothers Makati. A male and female model posed gracefully on the center stage and showed off their assets with Carnival props to a room of nearly 50 amateur and professional artists.

In a casual talk with Pens N’ Brushes, it was revealed that Life Drawing Session will happen once every other month to introduce another event—Portraits 360°.

Check out what we have seen together with the artists of Doodle Art Enthusiasts. For us, it was a great evening jam of sketch session with live music, stand-up comedy, and spoken poetry. Oh and beer. Great beers!

It is definitely good for you, so give it a go!
