Manila, Philippines – After the success of its first nude figure drawing event, Singapore-based non-profit art group Pens N’ Brushes will hold the second edition of its Life Drawing Session on May 6, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at The Open Space in Jupiter St. Makati. The theme for this edition is about the zodiac signs of Taurus and Gemini and how the two coincides with one another. This intriguing theme will be incorporated in the event element – from the poses to music to venue setting.
Nude art has been recognized globally hence the team wanted to celebrate it by partaking in the Philippine art scene. Figure drawing, from the pre-historic age, has been exposed to the public and through time, the scene has changed. As the setting itself is a bit intimidating, the modern art scene revived it by incorporating socials and do it in a casual setting. Pens N’ Brushes wanted to impart this setting to its events hence for every edition, guests will be treated to food and drinks, upbeat mixed music, live band, and people can chat with one another. “It’s sort of a networking event if you may”, explains Joy del Rosario, co-founder, “guests widen their network while doing something they’re passionate about which is figure drawing”.
Similar to the first edition, guests are welcome to bring their own art material of choice but they can also use the materials which will be provided for by Faber Castell.
When asked what’s next for Pens N’ Brushes, del Rosario added that there will be a lineup of activities and events in partnership with a household name in bookstore. There’s indeed so much to watch out for this group while they support the figure art scene in the Philippines.
Early bird rate until April 29 is at Php600 while regular rate is at Php700.
